I got stuck home watching seven kids while my significant other and her sisters are on a girls’ night out. My kids are watching the Kids’ Choice Awards, so I am too.
Random album generator fun
My brother in law, who is pretty much teh coolness, wrote a random album generator application. I encourage its use by all of you — click here. Chances are, no matter how sucky the cover looks it will still look better than this.

Lost: “He’s Our You”
This episode was frenetic and amazing: flashbacks, flashforwards and a whole lot of Sayid in all his various modes.
Spoilers from tonight’s episode and other stuff below.
GI Joe or Transformers?
Lost: Namaste
I’m on the road for Spring Break today and will be unable to blog this episode before the weekend (if at all). Feel free to discuss and speculate about the episode “Namaste” in the comments below.
UPDATED: I’m back from vacation and have now seen and analyzed the episode. My thoughts and observations are posted below.

BSG 3.20.2009 – Liveblogging “The Last Frakking Special” and “Daybreak”
I can’t promise anything interesting the first two hours, but I’m committed to the whole four hours, I do want to see Daybreak part one again, just to see if a second viewing shows anything (or if the pigeon will suddenly make sense).
Keep in mind that the finale will run 11 minutes long! (Fix those TIVOs or DVRs!)
Feel free to join in the comments. Liveblogging begins below the fold:
Battlestar Galactica: The Finale Begins
Ivan will be liveblogging the Finale, as well as the Last Frakking Special, but you can watch Part I of the special online at SciFi now, here.
Quote from the final episode: “I’m not going to hook up a CYLON… to my CIC!” shouts the old man.

Rediscovering Michael
In high school my best friend was a huge fan of Michael Jordan and Michael Jackson. I hated both. Not because I had anything against either of them per se, but in my (adolescent, high school) mind I didn’t want to be on either bandwagon (this argument had some merit, I mean, how many of those tools who said they were Bulls fans before Jordan are still Bulls fans? Exactly.) Of course this didn’t stop me from being on the council of many other bandwagons including U2, Seinfeld and the butt-cut hairdo. Alas, high school logic. (more…)

Worst Lost Episodes
So Steve and I were talking about BSG. I mentioned that part of the problem is that BSG seems that much worse this season compared to Lost which is arguably better than it ever was. So here’s the question. What are the weakest episodes of Lost? Steve, heretic he is, thinks all of season 3 was weak. I think that it had some of the weaker episodes but overall was when the show really got rolling.

Corned Beef Season!
Now that I’m too old to pinch people for not wearing green on St. Patrick’s day, the holiday means only one thing to me: corned beef is on sale. I’ve paid attention over the past year and, at least in my area, corned beef brisket is only on sale once a year. Because of the preservative power of the salt brine, corned beef lasts several weeks in the refrigerator. Plus, you can freeze cooked corned beef for months (for some reason, I don’t think you’re supposed to freeze uncooked corned beef). So it’s time to stock up. (more…)
BSG 3.13.2009 – “Daybreak, Pt. 1.”
- The series is winding down. I only have one link. Here are some scans from a TV Guide article on the end of BSG. It’s pretty clear Moore is not interested in actually answering all (or perhaps even most of) the mysteries.
_ Okay. One more link. Want to buy that picture of the Cylon War from Adama’s quarters? Here’s an ebay auction for it (sort of – see the listing for more details).
- Next week I will blog “The Last Frakking Special” as well as the entire finale.

Anyone Watch Jon Stewart Dismantle Jim Cramer Last Night?
It’s pretty crazy. Reminded me of when Jon Stewart went on Crossfire a couple years ago and disassembled that show.

Pepsi, Gatorade & Tropicana Redesign
If you haven’t noticed the Pepsi Company has overhauled the branding on three of its most popular beverages: Pepsi, Gatorade and Tropicana. Whether people drink these or not, most have an opinion on their new looks (all three redesigns were executed by the same design studio for a cool $22MM). Here’s mine: (more…)
The Watchmen!
I think that this is a good way of finally getting all this Watchmen stuff out of our system.
So, what are your feelings on the book, the movie, or the Saturday morning cartoon?
BSG 3.03.2009 – “Islanded in a Stream of Stars.”
- I didn’t know “Island” was a verb. But I checked the OED (Oxford English Dictionary), and it’s been a verb since at least 1661.
- All the recent BSG news you could ever want is here. Tons and tons of links at that link. Tons. So many, I see no need for me to list any other links today.
-After tonight, we just have the three part finale. Part one is next week. The week after will have “The Last Frakkin’ Special” and then broadcast all three parts in a row.
