Mercedes, hands down. BMWs are for crappy drivers and wanna-bes. You get your hands on a nice AMG, and you’ll never look back.

Depends on the model. I’ve been in really, really nice BMW’s in Germany- models I’m not so sure we have over here. If I could have one of those, I would. Stateside, generally it’s Mercedes.
Hmm. Neither. I’m a Porsche man although if our company is successful we’re all getting Ariel Atoms. (About the price of a Porsche Boxter) My dream car though is still a gold Porsche 911 Turbo Cabriolet.
I will say, however, I’ve driven in the top BMW sports car down through the canyons around here and it is a very fun and sporty car. Especially with the top down.
yeah, between the two, i’m with supergenius. bmw’s are just knockoffs. when my husband was in the military, everyone and their e-nothing brother drove a bmw.
but if my sister-in-law felt like handing over her 760, i could quickly convert!

I used to think Audis were kind of lame, but lately (last few years) they’ve really grown on me. Have my tastes matured or has their style improved? ‘Cause I’d also choose Audi over BMW or Mercedes (though, to be honest, the most expensive car I would ever buy is a VW).
I’m kinda surprised by the stereotypical comments regarding the people who drive BMWs, but if that’s a fair criterion, then I guess I should note that I know a lot of wonderful people who drive a mercedes. Then, when they get home, they put their teeth in a glass.
As an impressionable teen I lost a drag race to a guy in a BMW, they have had a place in my heart ever since.
But if just naming a favorite luxury car I would go with the Jaguar XJS (I think that is the one with the fins that the saint drove in the 1970’s tv show)

There’s just no “cool” factor in the majority of Mercedes out there. There’s the “I’m stinking rich” factor, but no cool.
That shouldn’t be taken to imply that I have even an ounce of cool.
