The Horror, The Horror!
Dr. Horrible has a PhD in horribleness and an evil plan to rule the world. He has vowed to join the evil league of evil and combine forces with “the thoroughbred of sin,” Bad Horse. Fortunately, he’s got a sing-a-long blog so we can have a front row seat to all of this awsomeness.
This whole thing presents several pertinent questions….but I can’t for the life of me think what they are. Your thoughts?
The question is clear: Does the quick reference to Billy Bud in Act II foreshadow Dr. Horrible getting tied to a mast in Act III?
Also, I was going to ask, “Well if those aren’t the hammer then what is the hammer?” But then everything was cleared up in short order.

“You need anything dampened… or… moistened?”
Har!

It’s a gem. That was the best diversion I’ve had all week.

“The hammer is my penis.” GOLD.

I’m half way through and this does nothing to dampen my love of Fillion.

Oh crap. Be sure to catch Act III quickly when it comes out (tomorrow) because they’re going to take it down on Sunday:
ACT ONE (Wheee!) will go up Tuesday July 15th.
ACT TWO (OMG!) will go up Thursday July 17th.
ACT THREE (Denouement!) will go up Saturday July 19th.
All acts will stay up until midnight Sunday July 20th. Then they will vanish into the night, like a phantom (but not THE Phantom – that’s still playing. Like, everywhere.)

Alas, genius is always fleeting.
I have sometimes doubted the genius of Joss Whedon in the past, but I will never do so again. Also NPH is making a serious play to be the funniest man in existence. Combine this with How I Met Your Mother and it’s hard not to give him a shot at the title. Who’d have guessed it Doogie?

I was really hoping for a flashback to Dr. Horrible’s childhood that was simply a scene from Doogie Howser.

That was awesome.
My favorite: “sometimes there’s a third even deeper level and that one is the same as the top surface one. You know, like pie.”

I was hoping y’all would be talking about this here. Got a link over in the DAMU last night, watched Acts 1 and 2 and then just after 11:00, Act III went up (because I’m in the Central time zone.)
The duet at the beginning of Act II was genius. The creepiness of Captain Hammer. And Dr. Horrible is so likeable.

They dig this in the DAMU? I thought they were all solely into goth wear and acid rock over there;-)

#8, Did you see the episode of How I Met Your Mother where the episode tag was Barney writing in his diary… on a computer with a blue screen, with voiceover and the Doogie music? I almost fell out of my chair laughing.
I love Dr. Horrible so much. “Oh, goodness, look at my wrist. I gotta go.” “What a crazy, random happenstance.” And so many other great things.
