Giving the fans what they want.
Is it really that difficult? And yet so often our expectations are ignored and scorned. Remember the Fantastic Four movie? Bah.
Well, Jon Favreau knows how to win over this fanboy’s heart. Check out the new Iron Man trailer. 2008 is going to be a great, great year for comic book adaptations. I predict this will be a winner.

After the Cars 2 news that was just what I needed.

one nitpick: If you are going to build a super suit to escape from an evil lair, take the plans for the suit with you!

I am so psyched for this movie. It begins with being a Marvel Comics fan but moreover, ever since I heard they were using Robert Downey Jr. to be Tony Stark, I felt this was going to be a winner. He’s a perfect choice.
AC/DC, Audioslave and Black Sabbath for the soundtrack isn’t hurting either. Just watching the trailer makes me feel like I’m on steroids. Not that I’d know what that is like, Mr. Roger Clemens.

I’m not sure of Paltrow as the girlfriend/secretary. (Iron Man was my favorite back in the early 80’s which arguably was the peak of the series)

Oh, those probably aren’t on the soundtrack. Just the trailers (unless someone has heard differently)

Oh, I hope you’re right! I saw this trailer (or the version just prior) in the theatre when we saw Cloverfield, and it was AWESOME on the big screen.

That ruled.
I was a huge Iron Man fan and the original trailer wasn’t really doing for me.

I had Iron Man underoos…but, that was about it.
The spectrum of comic book movies is pretty broad:
FF/Dare Devil————–Spiderman2/Batman Begins
I have a feeling that this one will fall somewhere happily in the middle. An X-Men perhaps…

Daredevil could have been good. They just made him super-strong for some weird, weird reason. (Probably Spiderman) There was a lot going for it. I think refilming that ending and then some re-editing could have helped it a ton.
