  3. I’m going to be traveling next week, so I won’t be blogging the season premier. I might not even watch it until I get back. Maybe we can start an open thread and I’ll blog it next weekend.

  4. Chuck had two episodes last night too. I think House is returning soon as well.

  5. Did anyone notice a quick shot of Jack’s dad sitting in a rocking chair with tattered clothes???

    I could be wrong…

  6. don’t forget, Hayes, Jack’s dad was referenced as being alive in the flash-forward last season.

  7. I’m just…not very excited. I was much more excited for the 2 eps of Chuck last night!

  8. Was his Dad alive? I didn’t take the comments about his Dad as implying that. More talking about events in the past.

I am pretty disappointed they are only doing 8 episodes though. This remains the best show on TV. Nothing else comes close. Although after BSG: Razor I am excited for the new BSG season if it ever emerges.

Speaking of which SciFi says they may revisit the BSG prequel called Caprica simply because there are already scripts written for it and they don’t have scripts for content to fill up the year.

  9. Clark, I seem to remember a line that went something like “go upstairs right now to my dad’s office and if he’s drunk…”
Maybe I misinterpreted what was implied. Hearing it initially, of course, registered nothing, since at that point I thought it was a flashback.

  10. I took it as an indication of just how sloshed Jack was. To me the doctor’s look indicated that this was a crazy thing for Jack to say given that his father was dead.

  11. Fox cleared that up in an interview with EW. He said that,
people when they are wasted and strung out will say all sorts of crazy things. And, he came out and said that Jack’s dad was NOT alive in the future.

But, the clip I’m talking about was the season teaser on iTunes…it looked an awful lot like a Jacob rocking chair and clothes…

  12. Now that i have just watched those spoilers from Eonline, a few things to comment:

    - Hurley clearly stumbles upon Jacob’s cabin
    - watch the Lost Season 4 trailer on iTunes. At 1:02-1:07, you see what looks to be Hurley opening up a cabin door.
    - you then see Hurley’s eyes WIDE open
    - Dr. Shepherd is sitting in a rocking chair, next to some antique looking furniture.
    - next shot is Hurley running out away from what appears to be the cabin.

    This can’t be a coincidence…

  13. Maybe Jacob went all Norman Bates on Dr. Shepherd’s remains…

  14. Crap, I might have to watch Season 3 all over again just to get caught up. I’ve forgotten a lot.

  15. Did the “LOST” writers cross the picket line? That’s pretty disgusting.

    Comment by California Condor — January 28, 2008 @ 4:49 pm

  16. No. In fact the main writer for Lost is the main negotiator for the writers.

They just stockpiled up a bunch of scripts prior to the strike. Unfortunately from what I’ve heard there are only 8.

  17. @Clark,

I confess I had read that these episodes were made before the strike. I was just kidding in #15.

  18. By the way, the pop-up-video version of the season finale was TERRIBLE.

    Comment by Supergenius — January 31, 2008 @ 11:12 am

  19. I didn’t even bother watching… Ugh.

The one thing that pisses me off is that the ABC station here in Utah is probably the one remaining network affiliate not to broadcast in HDTV. So no hi-res Lost.

  20. I had the pop-up version of the finale on because I thought the season premiere was last night.

I don’t know if this happened everywhere or just in my town, but the broadcast was off-center. Whenever there was text on the screen, the first few letters of the words were cut off the left side of the screen!

Whatever the problem, I hope tonight’s episode doesn’t have the same problem.
