Poll - Buffy Musical

After unpacking all my DVDs that had been in storage, I came across my Buffy the Vampire Slayer sets. I was a big fan. I laboured my first child during the season 3 finale before going to the hospital. Ahhh the memories…

So, just for fun I put on the infamous musical episode “Once More With Feeling”. I think Joss Whedon has created some fantastic TV and I loved the musical episode. However, my husband tells me that some people though it jumped the shark with this episode! Really? Tell me it isn’t so!

  1. I’ve been thinking I should NetFlix Buffy. I’m not sure I’ve ever seen an entire episode.

  3. The musical episode was wonderful. Now, the season as a whole wasn’t as great as the one before it — I’m one of those people who think Buffy should have stayed dead — but I still liked it.

    Btw, Rebecca, you need to read Buffy Season 8.

  4. Once More With Feeling is probably the best episode of Buffy the Vampire Slayer. It comes in the disappointing Season Six of the show.

  5. I love “Once More with Feeling”, but I don’t think it’s the best episode. It is very cool that Sweet the musical demon was played by Broadway vet Hinton Battle, though.

    Offhand, my top episodes:
    - Hush
    - The Body
    - Band Candy
    - The Wish
    - Ted
    - Superstar

    And my favorite big bad was the Mayor.

  7. The Mayor was the best baddie by far.

    I really didn’t like ‘Ted’ though. All your others are great ones though Jennifer.

    The episode after ‘Once More With Feeling’ was ‘Tabula Rasa’ and was a good one also (where they all lost their memories - Spike thought he was Giles’ son etc).

  9. How could you not like John Ritter and cookies?

    Buffy Season 8 (I’ve read 4) is great so far.

    I was hoping they’d do Angel Season 6. Hopefully, they’ll bring back Wes from the dead.

    Favorite Angel episode: Smile Time
    (wee puppet man!)

    She was not such a great episode but the dancing!Wes! & dancing!Angel were priceless.

    The musical episode was a bright spot in that dreary wasteland known as the last two seasons of Buffy.

  11. i’ve never seen an episode all the way through, though buffy is hot. this was pretty amusing watching. was it for real an entire episode? as for joss whedon, i loved the office episode he directed. it was pure genius.
