Yet Another Chance at Online Jeopardy! Tryouts

by a random John

If you haven’t tried out for Jeopardy! during the last year then you can do so online. You must pre-register, so go to the site and get signed up.

No, they haven’t called me to be on the show.  grrrrrr.  My time in the contestant pool ends in May, I think. If you get in you lower my chances of getting on, so I have mixed feelings about this…Previous KB Jeopardy! links:

Also, I hereby publicly challenge SG to take the test and prove he is worth of his nick.

  2. I feel your pain, John. I qualified in October of 2005 and never heard a peep. I don’t know whether it’s worth it to try again so soon (since they didn’t like me enough to call the first time).

On the other hand, if I did get on, I would be under a lot of pressure to do at least as good as Maude did when she was on.

  3. Ned,

I fully plan to try out again when they never call. I’d go for it.

  4. The bad news is that if they didn’t call, it wasn’t because of how well or poorly they thought you’d do on the show. It was because they thought that you were too ugly for television. And it’s not like Jeopardy has a particularly high bar for looks. Sorry John and Ned.

  7. I got all excited about this, registered, and then . . . the system kicked me off because I’ve already tried out once this year (online). Can’t do it twice. Nope, that would be taking advantage.

  8. I should note that not only was I relatively well groomed for the try-out, but I gave all my responses in the form of a question and got the answers right. One of the six people left in our group not only got most of the live questions wrong, but he never answered in the form of a question. I should have looked great in contrast…

  10. I did the online test. I think I did well, but I might not ever find out, for sure.

  11. D.,

They are very much about pass/fail and not giving feedback. Unless you were counting how many you are sure you got right as you went you aren’t going to know how you did.

  12. Yeah, I know. But does pass = 100%? Because I didn’t get 100%.

  13. I haven’t taken the online version. My preliminary test had 10 questions and you had to get 8 right from what I hear. My secondary test had 50 questions and you had to get 35 right. So missing some is OK.

  14. Yes, I think I missed 2, out of 50. (There were two that I couldn’t fill in.)

I’m fairly certain that the others were correct, but you never know…

  15. Missing 2 out of 50 is great! You might soon join our elite fraternity of people waiting in vain in the contestant pool!
