Band Spotlight: Ladyhawk
This week’s Band Spotlight is firmly aimed at Ladyhawk, an indie rock band that I think a lot of you KB’ers will enjoy. Read on to learn more about them, in their own words—in this case, the words of their bassist/vocalist, Sean Hawryluk.

Describe your best (or worst!) live performance:
our album release show in vancouver was groovy. lot’s of good folk gettin down. we’ve played many great sets and many crappy ones though…

our first record was just released on 06/06/06
Tell us about the song we’ve posted to the radio.blog:
there’s a verse, a chorus, then a verse and a chorus, then a big dual solo section through the whole verse and chorus, then we do the verse and chorus again at the end, but finish off with a bit of a jam out.

I’ve posted “The Dugout,” a song from their self-titled 2006 release, to the radio.blog.

I think I read somewhere that they sound like/were influenced by Dinosaur Jr (who I’m not familiar with) and the Replacements. I don’t really hear the Replacements. I do hear some Bob Mould in the singer’s voice, but maybe not on this song.
