  2. All reports are that there’s no good reason to upgrade to 2.0. It’s a little buggy, and very slow, apparently.

    Comment by Bryce I — January 27, 2006 @ 11:41 am

  3. It has some nice features: user capabilities management, better spam integration, image management and wysiwyg for those that like it. I haven’t found that it is any slower than 1.5

  4. Jonathan, is there some way to turn off wysiwyg? I’m hopelessly old school. Besides, my home machine is a Celeron running at 366Mhz — the instant preview for comments kills it.

    Comment by Bryce I — January 27, 2006 @ 12:05 pm

  5. Users can turn of the wysiwyg in the admin section. You can disable the comment live preview by disabling Java Script.

  9. it is said that BUNNIE MILLS can carress a song like a child plays with a toy-has anyone ever seen what it is that a child can do to a toy, like beat it in the head, or against the wall, pull it apart with fury and spit and deficate on it. Well, I have had the mispleasure of hearing Bunnie Mills sing, and that’s what it sounds like.

  10. Hi again everyone!!! This is a promoter and what is going on with airplay from Bunnie Mills or that God awful singer Norma Lee.

  11. Dude, I would ban your spamming ass if you weren’t so dorky.

    Comment by Supergenius — June 5, 2006 @ 2:26 pm

  12. I am not spamming, just sending out a little promo for these artists.

    Comment by James Dalphonse — June 14, 2006 @ 10:08 am

  13. Um, James, sending out unsolicited and unwelcome promo for artists you represent IS SPAMMING. But again, the dorkiness serves as a nice counterweight.

  20. We made grilled spam & cheese sandwiches the other night. Our kids had never seen spam so we decided to splurge.

    Comment by Susan M — June 14, 2006 @ 9:23 pm

  21. I have never seen someone eat spam. Except for the one time I tried it. I figure somebody out there has to buy it or they wouldn’t make it. Must be one of those mysteries like Katie Couric’s popularity.

  22. My favorite gross dinner — sliced SPAM ™ baked with pork & beans.

  23. Spam is very popular in Hawaii.

    Comment by Susan M — June 15, 2006 @ 11:25 am

  24. Have you ever noticed that some pates look remarkably like spam?

    Comment by Jennifer — June 15, 2006 @ 11:46 am

  25. Let me get this straight, Susan. Buying spam = splurging?

    Yikes.

When I was a kid we would sometimes have slices of browned spam as part of dinner; we also had canned corned beef hash.

My mom is a great cook, but even she admits that she got much better once we moved to California and she began to absorb the influences here rather than rely solely on her Utah cuisine roots (such as they are).

    Comment by William Morris — June 15, 2006 @ 12:32 pm

  26. Pris, SPAM’s popularity is easier to understand than Katie Couric’s. SPAM is salty processed meat, essentially hot dogs in a different shape. Humans, and especially Americans, have a long and storied history with salty processed meats. Couric’s got nothing going for her as far as I can tell.

    Comment by Tom — June 15, 2006 @ 12:55 pm

  27. Please don’t equate SPAM with hotdogs. I like gross food as much as the next person, but it isn’t equivalent. A good grilled hot dog is much better than SPAM. Spam is like super-greasy, mushy ground beef, only much too salty and tasting like can. I’m not a fan of can.

My dad used to buy a whole bunch of SPAM when it would go on sale by the case. I have no idea why. I think he was the only one who ate it.

    Comment by Allison — June 15, 2006 @ 1:19 pm

  28. …but go ahead and equate SPAM with Katie Couric. It’s not a bad comparison at all.

    Comment by Allison — June 15, 2006 @ 1:20 pm

  29. I’ve been thinking about upgrading to 2.0 but now all I can think about is Spam.

    Comment by danithew — June 15, 2006 @ 1:25 pm

  30. The splurge remark was a joke. Although at the time it did seem like a lot to pay for what we were getting.

    Comment by Susan M — June 15, 2006 @ 1:29 pm

  31. I would kill to see an Iron Chef episode where the special ingredient is spam.

    Comment by Jennifer — June 15, 2006 @ 3:41 pm

  32. “ah, fukui-san… they seem to be using salmon roe and some kind of processed meat. It appears to be spam!”

“Spam! Oh wow, that should be an interesting flavor for Iron Chef Sakai.”
